Exam Details

The SLLS Instructor Certificates for Levels (I), (II), and (III) are designed for those who wish to teach and train others in lifesaving and lifeguarding skills.

Minimum Age: 18 years

Level (I) Instructor Certificate

  1. Written Assessment:
    • Format: Multiple-choice and short-answer questions.
    • Topics Covered:
      • Basic principles of teaching and learning
      • Understanding of Level (I) skills and knowledge
      • Safety procedures and emergency protocols
  2. Practical Skills Assessment:
    • Demonstration of Skills: Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach and perform Level (I) skills effectively.
    • Teaching Practice: Conduct a mini-lesson demonstrating teaching techniques.

Level (II) Instructor Certificate

  1. Written Assessment:
    • Format: More advanced multiple-choice and scenario-based questions.
    • Topics Covered:
      • Advanced teaching methodologies
      • Understanding Level (II) skills and emergency response
      • Assessment techniques for learners
  2. Practical Skills Assessment:
    • Demonstration of Skills: Candidates must demonstrate advanced lifesaving and first aid skills.
    • Teaching Practice: Conduct a lesson that incorporates feedback and assessment of student performance.

Level (III) Instructor Certificate

  1. Written Assessment:
    • Format: Comprehensive assessment with case studies and practical applications.
    • Topics Covered:
      • Leadership and management in lifeguarding
      • Advanced emergency response protocols
      • Curriculum development and lesson planning
  2. Practical Skills Assessment:
    • Demonstration of Skills: Candidates must show mastery of Level (III) skills, including complex rescue scenarios.
    • Teaching Practice: Plan and deliver a complete lesson, incorporating all aspects of the teaching process and assessing students.
