Exam Details

The Water Safety (Senior) exam focuses on advanced water safety skills, rescue techniques, and theoretical knowledge.

Minimum Age: 12 years
Duration: 2-3 hours (1/2 Day)
Certification offered by: Sri Lanka Life Saving (SLLS)

 

Eligibility: Generally aimed at older teens or adults, often those aged 13 and up.

  1. Topics Covered:
    • Advanced swimming techniques and strokes
    • Understanding and recognizing various water hazards
    • Lifesaving techniques and rescue protocols
    • First aid and CPR basics
    • Emergency response planning
  2. Format:
    • Written exam assessing theoretical knowledge
    • Practical assessment in a pool or open water environment, focusing on rescue scenarios and swimming skills
  3. Preparation:
    • Review advanced water safety practices and rescue techniques
    • Take practice exams or attend review sessions
    • Engage in physical training to improve swimming and rescue skills
  4. Materials Needed:
    • Swimsuit and towel for the practical assessment
    • Any specific materials or forms required
  5. Certification: Successful candidates will receive a certification that will make you eligible to complete initial level towards positions such as lifeguard or water safety instructor.
